The Railway Interiors Innovation and Excellence Awards 2008 are designed to recognise and reward the rapidly increasing sophistication of railcar interior design, equipment, technology and furnishings.
Covering every class of passenger rail vehicle from urban tram to high-speed train, nominations can be put forward by anyone working in the rail interiors sector – the shortlist is compiled by the readers and editorial team of Railway Interiors International magazine.
These entries will be judged by a panel that includes experts from rail media, research and education institutions, and rail passenger groups from every major rail market in the world. The winners will be announced at a free reception and networking event in the early evening of November 5th.
The categories for the Awards are as follows:

• Safety/Accessibility Feature of the Year
• Passenger Infotainment Innovation of the Year
• Refurbishment of the Year
• Security Innovation of the Year
• Design of the Year
• Passenger Service Innovation of the Year
Who makes the greatest railcar interior products and technologies?
The Railway Interiors Innovation and Excellence Awards 2008 ceremony will take place in front of an audience of expo visitors, exhibitors and VIPs at a reception in the exhibition hall on 5 November 2008.
The Awards are organised by UKIP Media & Events Ltd, publisher of Railway Interiors International and organiser of Railway Interiors Expo.
Visitors to the exhibition will be handed a ballot paper when they arrive and will be encouraged to visit the stands of companies who have entered products for this award.
Voting will close at 4pm on 5 November 2008 and the winner will be announced at The Railway Interiors Innovation and Excellence Awards 2008 reception at the end of the day.
